Teeling Whiskey Company Officially Opens Dublin Distillery

The Teeling Whiskey Company has officially opened its brand new €10 million distillery and visitor centre in The Liberties, Dublin – the first in the capital in over 125 years.

Alongside the distillery, the facility hosts a visitor centre for whiskey tasting tours, a café and a bar, as well as a private event space for hire and a gift shop.

The Teeling Whiskey Company was founded in 2012 by Jack Teeling – now managing director – with the aim of reviving his family’s trademark Irish whiskey and bring distilling back to Dublin, where Walter Teeling had a distillery on Marrowbone Lane in the 18th century.

The opening gives Teeling Whiskey Company complete control of all aspects of its whiskey production, from grain to bottle, which it says gives it the chance to lead the category in innovation and build on its reputation of producing high quality whiskeys.

Teeling Single Malt was recently named ‘World’s Best’ at the 2015 World Whiskies Awards, while Teeling Small Batch won ‘Best Blended Irish Whiskey’ at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Jack Teeling commented on the opening, “Today is a momentous day in the history of our company and something we have been working towards for the last three years. We are delighted to officially open our brand new distillery and bring back the tradition of distilling to Dublin."
