Square Kiosk Launches In Ireland To Make Restaurant-Ordering Faster

Square, the global technology company, has launched Square Kiosk, a fully integrated software, hardware and payment solution that enables self-serve ordering for quick-service restaurants.

Square Kiosk is designed to help fast-moving and fast-growing restaurants deliver a smooth service experience while keeping queues to a minimum. The technology enables users to customise and place orders in under 60 seconds through an interface with embedded contactless and chip payment technology.

“Amid staffing challenges, growing costs and shrinking margins, Square Kiosk also gives operators the ability to staff up other areas of their businesses, while streamlining service and cutting down on wait time for customers,” said Róisín O’Brien, head of product marketing for Square in Ireland.

“Our goal is to help restaurateurs adapt to new market demands while optimising their resources, allowing them to focus on what they do best, providing an exceptional dining experience.”

With Square Kiosk, users are able to select exactly what they want, with customisation options being sent directly to the kitchen, and Square claims that restaurants can grow their ‘cheque sizes’ by offering upgrades and add-ons on every order, without any awkward exchanges.

This comes after a 2024 Future of Commerce report found that 78% of customers prefer to place orders through self-serve kiosks or online.

“With the evolution of technology in the hospitality industry, Irish diners have come to expect speed and convenience when ordering, and Square Kiosk delivers on that,” said O’Brien.
