Revenue Rises At Aramark

Revenue at catering services, facilities and property management company Aramark Ireland rose 6% to €207 million in the year to the end of September 2012. Operating profit increased by 18% to €5.3 million during the period.

The company also created 209 additional jobs, growing total employment to 3800.

Donal O'Brien, chief executive at Aramark, attributed the company's growth to to both its energy and environmental sectors and to its growing foothold in the lucrative multinational sector, which helped it to win multi-country contracts as well as higher revenues from the UK and Europe.

“We have consistently grown revenue and operating profits over the past three years, consolidating our position as the leading company in our sector,” he said.

“In 2012 our experience in the multinational sector was pivotal in our winning multi-country contracts resulting in strong growth in the UK and Europe.

“In the domestic market, gross margin fell slightly, from 16.9pc to 16.3pc due to the depressed economic climate and competitive pressures. However, this has been offset by prudent cost control and the successful leveraging of the scale of our business to deliver strong underlying growth across all areas of our operations," O'Brien added.
