Accounts filed by Ireland's Eye Seafoods Ltd have revealed that the Wright seafood and restaurant group experienced a pre-tax loss of €102,589 during the year that ended on January 31, 2019.
Meanwhile, the Howth, Dublin-based company's revenues decreased 6% to €20 million; its directors' pay increased from €471,012 to €1.07 million; the number of people employed by the firm rose from 180 to 186; and staff costs increased from €5 million to €5.2 million.
Redundancy Costs And Closures
According to The Irish Times, the directors stated that they were pleased with the company's overall performance during the period and attributed the pre-tax loss to once-off redundancy costs.
The directors added that the decrease in revenues was caused by the closures of a restaurant on Dublin's Dawson Street in 2017 and a retail unit at Dublin Airport in 2018.
