Wexford McDonald's Manager Scoops Europe-Wide Award

Manuel Jean, Business Manager of the Wexford McDonald’s Restaurant, has won a Ray Kroc Award, an accolade that recognises the top performing McDonald’s managers in Europe.

Manuel was one of only 73 McDonald’s Restaurant Managers in Europe - representing the top one per cent within the region - to receive the honour, which includes a cash prize and a trophy. This is the first time that the Ray Kroc Awards, which were named after McDonald’s corporate founder, have been awarded in Europe.

McDonald's owner-operators and regional staff nominate restaurant managers for the Ray Kroc Award to recognise their hard work, dedication, and commitment to McDonald's and its customers. From there, a selection committee of representatives from McDonald's Europe operations, training, and human resources teams select the Award winners.

Alison Hodgson, HR Director of McDonald’s Ireland who sat on the selection committee said: “Manuel was nominated for his commitment to making significant improvements to his restaurant during the course of 2012. On taking over the Business Manager role he worked hard to build his management team and that hard work came to fruition in 2012. Staff working with Manuelhave spoken of his commitment to outstanding service and this is something that is recognised by our customers. We’re delighted that we are able to recognise Manuelin this way”
