The Draft House in Strandhill, Co Sligo has been awarded the Just Ask Restaurant of the Month for February by Bord Bia.
The Just Ask campaign, which was established in 2009, encourages diners to look for information on menus about where the food on their plate comes from with the aim of promoting engagement and transparency in the farm-to-fork process.
"All our meat and poultry is 100 per cent Irish and our menus change with the season in order to offer our customers an exceptional experience. The Draft House takes particular pride in its Irish suppliers, listing them on our website and menus.
"Sheerin’s Meatin’ Place in Ballymote supply us with our beef, pork, sweet-cured bacon and sausages. Sherlock Meats of Tubbercurry supply us with beef and chicken and we source our duck from Thornhill Farm in Cavan. Kelly’s in Co Mayo supply us with their infamous black pudding. John Flynn Fish of Clogherevagh, Co Sligo supplies us with the best of locally-caught seafood and fish. Our drinks list features a range of craft beers from five Irish brewery's, including Sligo favourite, The White Hag, along with gins from Dingle and Drumshanbo," said head chef Lee Mastin.
