One of Dublin's best-known restaurants, The Unicorn, is reportedly set to re-open following the closing of its doors on Thursday evening after service. A notice on the Unicorn's website from its current management stated "Giorgio, Noreen and Rudy would like to thank you all for the wonderful 18 years that we have had here at the Unicorn. Circumstances have meant we have to leave and the restaurant is now closed'.
However, landlords Jeff and Pia Stokes have now asserted that they will reopen the Unicorn in the 'very near future' and will be managing the restaurant henceforth.
Italian native Giorgio Casari took over the restaurant in 1994 along with his wife Noreen. Prior to Giorgio and Noreen's proprietorship, another Italian national, Renato Sidoli, owned the restaurant.
