Over 3m Meals Were Purchased In NI As Part Of 'Eat Out To Help Out' Scheme

Figures from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) have revealed that over three millions meals were purchased in Northern Ireland last month as part of the UK's "eat out to help out" discount scheme.

The "eat out to help out" scheme entitled diners at participating food venues in the UK to a 50% discount of up to £10 per head on meals purchased on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the month of August.

Total Meals Purchased And Discount Statistics

According to The Belfast Telegraph, HMRC's data reveals that a total of 2,789,000 meals were purchased in Northern Ireland last month as part of the scheme, with discounts amounting to over £16 million.

The average discount per meal was £5.79.
