Galway's Michelin-starred Aniar, run by JP McMahon, has been included in the 'La Liste' top 1000 Outstanding Restaurants 2017 guide.
The list is compiled by aggregating reviews of the world's top restaurants from more than 300 guidebooks and publications, which have been graded by several thousand chefs who rank them from zero to ten according to their trustworthiness. Online customer reviews are then factored in and given a 25 per cent weighting to produce a final score for the restaurants on the list.
Aniar scored a grade of 87.25 and was one of only eleven restaurants in the Republic of Ireland and the only restaurant in Galway to make it onto the list for 2017. Aniar, known for its food philosophy of using sustainably produced, west of Ireland ingredients which showcase the terroir of the region, recently launched a new Inis Oírr menu offering 5 courses for €55.
