Just Eat Investigating Restaurants Using Multiple Accounts

A full audit into Just Eat's accounts is underway after the online takeaway service discovered some restaurants are registering multiple accounts.

Findings by the Irish Times revealed that dozens of fake restaurants or restaurants trading under different names were on the site, used to avoid poor customer reviews or hide negative health authority reports.

Just Eat has now said that any company found in breach of the rules will have its account suspended. Some businesses, it was discovered, were using up to five accounts.

Restaurants using duplicate accounts with alias names can steer customers away from other accounts that have poor user reviews or have been flagged for failed health inspections.

A spokesperson for Just Eat said an investigation is underway and it would "monitor listings on a regular basis" as there appeared to be duplications on some accounts.
