Five Guys To Open First Irish Restaurant Next Week

Five Guys Burgers and Fries, the popular US burger chain, will open its first restaurant in the capital next week.

Five Guys confirmed late last year its plans to enter the Irish market with five restaurants planned for the Dublin area.

The first of these outlets will open its doors at Dundrum Town Centre next Monday (3 October), reports lovindublin.com.

The fast food chain previously said that it has plans to open two restaurants in Dublin's city centre and a further three on the M50 belt. Cork, Galway, Limerick and Belfast can also expect new restaurants in the near future.

Five Guys started in Arlington, Virginia in 1986 and started franchising in 2003. It has since become the fastest growing casual dining restaurant business in the US and opened its first international venue in London in 2013.

Five Guys have received the Zagat seal of approval every year since 1999 and don't have freezers in the restaurants. The chain has become very popular with Irish tourists in the US, particularly J1 students.

Sons of Irish billionaire financier Dermot Desmond have secured the franchise rights for Ireland.
