It's been announced that the current maître d' at Dylan McGrath's newest restaurant, Taste, has landed the role on RTE's highly anticipated forthcoming series First Dates Ireland.
Mateo Saina, originally from Croatia but living Dublin since 2005 after spending time in Austria and Italy, will be on hand to welcome singletons from all over Ireland as they prepare to go on a nerve-wracking blind date, with the show being shot at the Gibson Hotel in Dublin (pictured).
First Dates Ireland will air later this spring and is expected to garner huge interest from Irish fans of the original UK version of the show, which includes the popular Fred Sirieix as maître d'.
Commenting in the role, Saina said: "I am so excited to be involved with Ireland. From my experience, I can tell whether people on a date are confident or not, whether they are nervous, and my job is to help them feel relaxed."
