Harvey Nichols restaurant and wine bar in Dundrum Town Centre has closed after it was reported that plans to take it over by an unnamed Argentinian restaurant company fell through as a result of Brexit.
The owners of Dundrum Town Centre, Hammerson, had previously been positive about the consequences of Brexit, however the company was forced to close the restaurant around two weeks ago, making nine staff redundant, reports the Irish Independent
The restaurant had been losing around €15,000 per month and feedback was sought from staff in the hope of keeping it open.
A Harvey Nichols spokesperson confirmed the closure, adding "the ITSA café continues to serve fresh, tasty and healthy breakfast and lunch options - along with teas, coffees and daily sweet treats - to our customers."
The store's layout will undergo some changes with the food market now being moved to the bottom floor, while the top will remain empty.
