With Euro 2016 kicking off tonight as hosts France play Romania, Domino's Pizza is to create 600 jobs in the Republic of Ireland and 400 in Northern Ireland as they prepare to be inundated with orders this summer.
The pizza chain expects three pizzas to be ordered every second during the tournament, which it says is the equivalent of more than 12,000 miles or 200,000 football pitches.
By the time the tournament finishes on 10 July, football fans will have eaten seven million pizzas that required 5,000 staff to make.
Last year was a very successful one for Domino's Pizza as it posted record sales in Ireland. The pizza chain says it has plans to open an additional 65 new stores across the United Kingdom and Ireland this year.
