Following the news that it would be opening 20 new stores in Ireland in 2017, popular food chain Chopped, which is famous for its salads, lean meats and healthy ingredients, has opened its first outlet in Cork.
Located in the Spar store in Eastgate business park on the outskirts of the city, the new branch will be operated by franchisee Shane Cantillon of The Cantillon Group and has generated 15 jobs for the area, according to The Irish Examiner.
Chopped co-founder/managing director Brian Lee commented, "We have been inundated with requests via social media to open in Cork and I am delighted to be able to meet our customers’ needs. We will be opening a second Freshly Chopped outlet in Cork city centre later this year and are also in talks with other potential franchisees for additional Cork stores."
