‘Business As Usual’ For Brasserie 66 After Fire

Popular Dublin eatery Brasserie 66 was forced to close for a time over the bank holiday weekend following a fire in the establishment’s basement.

Dublin Fire Brigade were called out just after 4am on Sunday morning to battle the blaze at the restaurant on South George St in Dublin. The fire was eventually extinguished two-and-half hours later.

Dublin Fire Brigade described the fire as “substantial”, while there were no reports of any injuries.

In a statement, Brasserie 66 said it reopened 4pm on Sunday afternoon.

As reported by thejournal.ie, a spokesperson for the restaurant, said: "It’s business as usual. Fortunately the concrete building ensured that the basement fire was contained and after an overnight clean up by dedicated staff, the restaurant (which was unaffected by the fire) is ready for orders as usual."
