Chief executive of Burger King parent company Restaurant Brands Jose Cil has revealed that Burger King is planning to begin offering two plant-based menu items across Europe, following their launch in Sweden during the summer.
The new menu items are called the Red Whopper and the Rebel Chicken King, according to The Irish Times.
Impossible Whopper
The launch of the Red Whopper and the Rebel Chicken King across Europe will follow the launch of the meatless Impossible Whopper in the US. However, Restaurant Brands stated that the creator of the latter menu item's meatless patty, Impossible Foods, will not be involved in the production of Burger King's plant-based menu items for the European market.
Burger King is expected to announce details of its rollout plan for the Red Whopper and the Rebel Chicken King across Europe soon.
