Coffee shop chain Bob & Berts has announced plans to open five new branches in Northern Ireland and three in Scotland.
The chain's expansion plans will be made possible by financial backing by Ulster Bank.
"Very Excited"
Bob & Berts co-founder Colin McClean stated, "We are very excited to announce the opening of our new stores in Northern Ireland and Scotland over the coming weeks and months. Our distinctive style and quality food and drink offering is driving significant demand and making Bob & Berts a highly sought-after addition to the local high street."
The Bob & Berts business was originally set up by McClean along with his father, Arnold, and his brother-in-law, David Ferguson, in Portstewart in Co. Derry in 2013.
The company opened its first branch in Belfast city centre in May of last year. It currently operates 20 outlets and employs approximately 400 people.
The planned opening of eight new branches across Northern Ireland and Scotland could create over 175 new jobs.
