Sixty percent of Irish diners in relationships plan to dine out this Valentine’s Day, according to new research commissioned by OpenTable.
The research shows that 69% of Irish diners plan to spend more or the same on Valentine's Day than last year.
Singles
The data indicates that millennials will be the main segment enjoying Valentine’s Day as 51% (27-42) plan to dine out for the holiday vs 46% of Gen Z (18-26).
Interestingly, 27% of Irish singles would happily take themselves out this year, 15% of whom have done it before.
'Going All Out'
“New research suggests that Irish diners will be going all out this 14th of February, with 69% planning to spend more or the same on a meal out than last year,” said Robin Chiang, SVP of Growth at OpenTable.
“In 2023, more than half of reservations (53%) were made at least four days out, so book before February 10th to help better your chances of securing your favourite table."
