Monday (12 June) saw the launch of Qatar Airways' new daily route between Dublin and Doha. Commenting on the launch, the airline's senior vice-president for Europe, Jonathan Harding, declared that the notion of postponing the route's inaugural flight due to political turmoil in the Persian Gulf was never entertained.
The senior vice-president insisted that the impact to the airline's operations has been negligible, stating, "We are leaving the politics to the politicians and the diplomacy to the diplomats."
According to The Irish Independent, Harding proclaimed that while it's still too early to tell whether the Dublin-Doha service could become double-daily down the line, bookings for the new route have been solid.
