This September, over 600 owners, operators and staff from the Irish pub sector from Ireland and overseas will attend the fifth Irish Pubs Global gathering event.
Held over three days from September 26-28 in the Citywest Hotel, Dublin, the event includes a conference, trade exhibition and the annual Irish Pubs Global Awards.
Billy Lawless, who in June became the first Irish emigrant to be appointed to the Oireachtas, and who is former VFI President and US-based pub owner, will open the event.
"The Irish Pub continues to enjoy iconic status around the world, and the Irish Pubs Global Gathering is a chance for pub owners and staff to come together and celebrate this," said entrepreneur and President of Irish Pubs Global Enda O’Coineen. "It’s also a chance to share new ideas and innovations with peers. The essence of the Irish pub has never really changed but trends and customer expectations have and we need to adapt to these in order to survive in a very competitive industry."
The theme for this year’s event is around 'Creating A Destination Pub' and it has been designed around topics including authenticity, boosting profitability, modern pub design, how technology can help the pub sector, food and drink trends and entertainment.
Over the course of the 3 days there will also be a guided pub tour, golf outing, demonstrations, tastings, and a gala dinner to celebrate business excellence and success in the sector. Awards will be presented for the Irish Pub of the Year, Best International Irish Pub Food, Supplier of the Year and Marketing Campaign of the Year (Irish Pub).
