Three Northern Irish pubs located in Counties Down and Tyrone, and Belfast, have hit the market at a time when the industry faces new pressures in the north, according to head of Hospitality Ulster Colin Neill.
As reported by The Belfast Telegraph, Neill asserted that on top of publicans facing increasing costs resulting from rises in minimum wage and business rates in Northern Ireland, "there is also inflation for consumers, including a 4% increase in domestic rates, which leaves less disposable income for dining and drinking."
Of the three pubs that have been put on the market, the asking price of The Pheasant Lodge of Gilford, Co. Down, which is being sold by selling agents Osborne King, has yet to be disclosed. Meanwhile, The Tanyard Tavern of Fivemiletown, Co. Tyrone, is being sold for £199,000 and the Kashmir Bar of Springfield Road, west Belfast, is available for a little below £600,000, with the sale including an off-sales retail unit and four apartments.
