Temple Bar Pub Posts €3m Profits Boost

New accounts for The Temple Bar pub in Dublin reveal that pre-tax profits at the company that runs the venue rose by 19% to €3.29 million last year.

The Irish Examiner reports that in a bumper year for the pub company, gross profits at Temple Bar Inn increased 17% from €8.8 million to €10.3 million during the 12 months to the end of October 2016. At that time, Temple Bar Inn Ltd. had accumulated profits of €11 million and shareholder funds of the same amount, with the company's cashpile increasing from €3.44 million to €4.76 million.

However, the aggregate pay of company directors Tom and Jackie Cleary fell from €360,819 to €337,197, with the monies being made up of €300,000 in salaries and €37,197 in pension contributions. Staff costs, including the directors' salaries, rose from €2.12 million to €2.33 million.
