Charlie Chawke, one of Ireland's most well-known publicans, has seen three of his Dublin pubs combine to boost profits by over €420,000 last year.
Dublin pubs the Goat Grill (pictured), the Dropping Well and the Oval filed new accounts which showed their incomes increased on the previous year, due to the resurgent pub scene in Dublin.
The company that owns the Goat pub recorded an increase of €100,000 of retained profits while the Oval on Middle Abbey Street boosted profits by the same figure. The popular Dropping Well pub in South Dublin saw its profits increase by €200,000, The Irish Times reports.
Chawke's pub group, which also include Searsons pub on Baggot Street, the Lord Lucan and the Bank pub on Dame Street, employs a total of around 400 people.
