A new cocktail bar called Pen & Player is set to open in Dublin on 25 October, located at 3-4 Harcourt Street, beside the Green Hotel.
The bar was developed in partnership with the award-winning interior architecture and design practice 21 Spaces and aims to combine ‘historic charm with contemporary allure’.
‘Premium Cocktail Bar’
“Opening Pen & Player, Dublin’s most exciting premium cocktail bar, is truly a momentous occasion for us all at the Green Hotel,” said Shauna Deely, director of operations.
“Our bar manager and mixologist, Rui Pinheiro, and head chef Paul Lee have poured their passion into crafting an unforgettable experience for our eagerly awaiting guests and the public.”
Architectural Heritage
The interior design of Pen & Player pays homage to the architectural heritage of the Georgian buildings of the area while incorporating modern elements.
The bar has panoramic French fabric wall coverings and art deco-inspired aesthetics, with a moody colour palette featuring deep burgundy tones and ornate Georgian ceiling coving that has been meticulously restored, providing space for the Italian Murano glass chandeliers.
In contrast, the bar area features midnight finishes, integrated lighting, decorative wall lights, and pink smoked mirrors.
‘Festive Season’
“As we sail into this year’s festive season and beyond, we are committed to pushing the boat out with the highest-quality locally sourced produce and expertise,” said Deeley.
“It’s a journey we’re thrilled to embark upon, and we can’t wait to share it with all of you.”
O’Callaghan Collection
The Green Hotel is part of the O’Callaghan Collection, which was established in 1989 and has a portfolio of five distinct boutique hotels, each reflecting the spirit of its locale.
