It's been announced that Burtse Ltd, the largest entity in the Louis Fitzgerald pub and hotel group, returned to profit last year with pre-tax profits of €7.8 million.
The Quays Bar, The Big Tree and Kehoe's of Dublin were among Burtse's biggest earners and its revenue rose by 94% from €29.77 million to €57.77 million during the 12 months to the end of December 2016.
According to the Irish Independent, Fitzgerald entities Shelbourne O'Brien and Brantive Ltd also achieved high profit margins last year, with the former recording profits of €551,910 and the latter recording profits of €210,104. A breakdown of Burtse revenues reveals that €29.9 million of the group's total revenue came from its bars while €12.8 million was accredited to food and €10 million to accommodation.
In addition to the above, the group's off-licence business took in €2.25 million, with night club revenue adding up to €504,235 and room hire bringing in €524,562.
