Retail chain Lidl is set to open a new store at the site of the old Belgard Inn in Dublin as part of a development that will incorporate a new pub.
Leased Licensed Premises
As reported by The Irish Times, Lidl acquired the site for approximately €2.6 million in 2013 and while it will develop a pub along with its new store on the site, the licensed premises will be leased out rather than being operated by Lidl directly. The site will also include a number of other new retail units.
The development’s retail element is scheduled for completion in early 2019, with the pub due to be completed at an undisclosed time thereafter.
