Irish businessman Bill Dempsey is understood to have agreed terms to purchase Dublin pub Davy Byrnes for a figure that sources say is close to €4.5 million.
Historical And Literary Connections
According to The Irish Independent, it is understood that Dempsey's interest in Davy Byrnes was piqued by its historical and literary connections, which include being featured in Joyce's Ulysses.
Located on the capital's Duke Street, the pub's sale is being handled by auctioneer John Younge.
