Nespresso has announced it plans to celebrate St Patrick’s Day by hosting Bar 1661 for a three-day celebration at the flagship Duke Street boutique.
In homage to Ireland’s rich culture, Nespresso has teamed up with Dublin’s elite drinks experts to bring an innovative experience to coffee lovers.
From Friday, March 14 to Monday, March 17, Nespresso’s flagship boutique on Duke Street, will be reimagined into a cocktail lounge, offering an exclusive opportunity for customers to enjoy coffee inspired non-alcoholic drinks.
From an Irish Coffee to Nespresso Martini, the offering features drinks crafted with Nespresso's decaf range, including two new additions: Double Espresso Chiaro Decaffeinato and Sweet Vanilla Decaffeinato.
Designed to closely resemble the original coffees in terms of their flavour profiles, Nespresso uses a natural decaffeination process that occurs prior to roasting, resulting in decaf coffee beans that are 'exceptionally rich, and full of character and flavour.'
The Double Espresso Chiaro Decaf is a blend of Latin American Arabica beans, offering a rich flavour profile with woody and earthy aromas, while Sweet Vanilla Decaf is Nespresso's first-ever decaffeinated flavoured coffee that serves as an alter ego.
“Coffee has been such a huge part of our drinks strategy since launching BAR 1661," said Dave Mulligan, founder of Bar 1661. "When the opportunity to work with Nespresso, celebrating the best of Irish culture, drinks and St. Patricks Day came to us, we couldn’t say no! It is an amazing opportunity to bring BAR 1661 to the heart of Dublin 2 alongside an iconic global coffee brand.”
The four-day celebration will also showcase and support emerging Irish music talent, with live performances each day from some of Ireland’s talented local artists.
"Ireland is home to some of the world’s most iconic coffee drinks, and we’re thrilled to celebrate this heritage in fresh and unexpected ways, showcasing our decaffeinated coffee collection through 1661’s creative lens," said Anna Lundstrom, CEO Nespresso Ireland and UK. "It’s an exciting fusion of tradition and innovation, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day."
