The Muckross Park Hotel, one of Killarney's oldest hotels, is set to undergo renovations, as the new owners plan to invest half a million to improve the site.
Irish hotel investment company iNua Hospitality, who recently completed the purchase of the hotel, announced the plans at a reception detailing the takeover. The hotel was previously owned by celebrity couple Bill CUllen and Jackie Lavin.
According to the Irish Examiner, iNua director Noel Creedon said the hotel would extend the capacity of the hotel to 105 rooms, adding 17 new two-bedroom apartments to the property. The work is estimated to cost approximately 500,000.
Cork-based iNua completed the purchase of Muckross in February for the lofty price tag of €6.25 million. Turnover at the hotel has grown 100% in the past three years and the workforce increased from 70 employees to 126.
