The Chancery Hotel Opens In Dublin 8

The Chancery, a four-star hotel, has opened its doors on Ship Street Great, in Dublin 8.

The independent Irish-owned hotel has 150 bedrooms and is located just metres from the Dublin Royal Convention Centre and the Printworks at Dublin Castle.

‘Iconic Dublin Skyline’

“We have kept three key values at the forefront of our minds at every step of the process to create this new hotel: community, sustainability, and the ultimate in exceeding the expectations of our guests,” said Brid Cloonan, general manager at The Chancery.

“These values are inherent in all aspects of the hotel, from the art on the walls, telling the story of Dublin, to the sensor-operated lighting throughout the hotel, to conserve energy, to the glass-fronted suites on the top floor, overlooking the iconic Dublin skyline.”

Italian Heritage

The hotel aims to weave the history of Dublin through its very fabric, from locally reclaimed stone to the bespoke commissioned art on the walls, which tells the story of the city and some of its most iconic characters.

The seasonal dishes in the hotel’s Fawn restaurant take inspiration from the Italian heritage of the area, while the biophilic design of the hotel sources foliage from local suppliers.

Skyline Views

Bedrooms include stand-alone handcrafted furniture and hardwood herringbone floors.

A selection of skyline rooms and suites aims to offer guests some of the best hotel views that Dublin has to offer.

Old Dublin

The hotel’s restaurant, Fawn, opens onto a walled garden designed by the award-winning Jane McCorkell. Inspired by the River Poddle, the garden endeavours to offer a calming enclave at the centre of the hotel, which immerses guests in nature while in the heart of the city, celebrating the history of Dublin.

The bar at the Chancery aims to transport guests to the old Dublin of the 1800s, as they look out on the lamplit cobbled streets of Ship Street Great.

International Meeting Hub

The Chancery offers its own dedicated boardroom, which seats 16 delegates and is equipped with an 85-inch LED screen and multimedia functionality, as well as several private acoustic meeting pods for two to four people.

The hotel has ambitions to be a new international meeting and digital hub in Dublin City.
