Renowned cruise ship the Queen Elizabeth 2 has been repurposed as a floating hotel, dining and entertainment destination at Mina Rashid in Dubai.
The ship starts its transition today (Wednesday April 18) with a "soft opening" that is said to be the first step in a refurbishment that is being overseen by Dubai's PCFC Hotels ahead of the floating venue's official launch in October of 2018.
As reported by The Irish Independent, the ship will retain is period furniture, paintings and memorabilia, and will feature 13 bars and restaurants as well as an interactive QE2 exhibition once the revamp works are complete.
