A tongue-in-cheek note warning Irish dancers about performing reels in the hotel lifts has given the Premier Inn in Belfast an unexpected PR lift on social media.
The hotel, located in the Cathedral Quarter, put up the sign as the World Irish Dance Championships got underway in the Waterfront Hotel.
Hotel guest Lianne Reddy posted a photo on Twitter of the note, which read:
"For all our Irish Dancing Champions. We at the Premier Inn understand how you need to practise constantly to perfect your skills. However if you dance in the lifts they will stop moving and you will be stuck in here until we can get an engineer to come and rescue you.
“P.S best of luck at the Waterfront.”
Reddy's tweet of the sign has attracted more than 500 retweets, as she told the BBC: "We had noticed the hotel was really busy but didn't know why. I didn't realise there was an Irish dancing competition on until we saw the sign."
