Dublin's Mespil Hotel saw a 17% increase in pre-tax profits to €2.5 million in 2016, with gross profits rising 16% to €8.42 million in the same period.
As reported by The Irish Independent, the four-star Dublin 4-based venue recorded a 15% rise in operating profits from €2.289 million to €2.633 million for the 12 months to the end of September last year, while post-tax profits amounted to €2.2 million following the payment of €314,161 in corporation tax.
Mespil directors Lee, Denis, John and Richard Kidney released a statement about the statistics, stating, "The company has reduced its bank debt significantly over the period. The current outlook is positive and the shortage of investment in the number of hotel rooms in Dublin because of the recession does provide some comfort to the directors in relation to the risks and uncertainties facing the company."
