Permission Sought For 117-Bedroom Dawson St. Hotel

Investment firm Miro Hotel 2 Limited has submitted a planning application to Dublin City Council for a €35 million development that includes a 117-bedroom hotel and the redevelopment of the Royal Irish Automobile Club's private members' club on Dublin's Dawson Street.

The Irish Independent reports that the application's submission follows Miro Hotel 2's acquisition of the Dawson Hotel at 35-36 Dawson Street and Anne's Lane, and together with the RIAC, the company plans to reconfigure both the Dawson Hotel and the adjacent RIAC headquarters at 33-34 Dawson Street to create the proposed 117-bedroom hotel.

Combined Hotel And Club

The new combined hotel and club would include a courtyard lobby, shared reception for the hotel and RIAC, a members' restaurant, bar, reading room, meeting rooms, offices for the RIAC and Motorsport Ireland, and a new location for the RIAC's Guinness Seagrave Library.

At present, it is expected that the RIAC will vacate the current club by the end of June, 2019, and redevelopment works are expected to be completed within two years thereafter.
