New accounts filed by Silork Ltd. reveal that operating profits at Co. Kerry's four-star Parknasilla hotel amounted to €1.4 million in 2016, with gross profit rising 16% from €5 million to €5.8 million.
As reported by The Irish Independent, managing director Tony Daly commented, "2016 was a good year overall with an early season boost of St. Patrick's week holidays plus 1916 commemorations.
"Demand was strong and continued to late season with a very positive Christmas and New Year period.
"2017 showed a growth of 8% on 2016 with a strong performance from the domestic market. International markets also increased."
Meanwhile, Daly stated that revenues at Parknasilla came to €8 million in 2017, as well as expressing his optimism for the current year, saying, 2018 "is looking at being another good year for tourism - there is increased demand and advance reservations are strong".
