Figures revealed by Airbnb's first UK Insight Report show that Northern Ireland is the site's fastest growing UK destination.
Data indicates upwards of 132,000 people have booked accommodation in the north through Airbnb since July of 2016, generating approximately £53 million for Northern Irish residents who rent rooms out via the site, reports the Belfast Telegraph.
Meanwhile, Airbnb recorded guest growth of 81% for the UK as a whole, generating an estimated £3.46 billion for British users.
Commenting on the above statistics, Airbnb's general manager for Northern Europe, James McClure, said, "The UK continues to break records on Airbnb, both as a world-leading destination and for the benefits that hosting generates for local families and their communities."
