The hotel building boom in Northern Ireland shows little sign of abating with news that a new 120-bedroom resort is planned for Portrush in Co. Antrim.
The proposed new development comes hot on the heals of Andras Hotels announcing plans to demolish the old Londonderry Hotel building in Portrush and replace it will a new 103-bedroom at a cost of £8 million.
The proposed new hotel is being developed by Causeway Coast Developments and would occupy a site overlooking Royal Portrush Golf Club, which is set to host The Open championship in 2019, reports the Belfast Telegraph.
Causeway Coast Developments hope it will be ready by the time The Open, with the company expected to have a planning application lodged in early September.
More than 250 hospitality jobs are expected to created if the planning application is handed the green light.
