Marlet Property has purchased a premises on Dublin's Abbey Street for more than €20 million and is planning on developing a 220-bed hotel and a 300-bed aparthotel on the site.
The Irish Independent reports that while Marlet has yet to apply for planning permission for the development, the sale of the site closed early last week and if approved, the construction of the hotel and aparthotel is likely to cost in the region of €90 million.
Marlet declined to comment on the news, but it is thought that a number of retail units will also be included in the proposed development.
