Irish Hotels Could Play Key Part In Managing COVID-19 Crisis, Says Savills

According to commercial and residential property firm Savills, Irish hotels could play a key part in helping to manage the COVID-19 crisis.

Savills has said that there are approximately 15,000 hotels beds located close to main hospitals in Ireland and that these beds would be "ideally suited" for people to use for self-isolation.

"Ready To Assist The Cause"

The Irish Independent quotes Savills Ireland hotels and leisure unit director Tom Barrett as saying, "Feedback from our hotel clients is that they are ready to assist the cause in whatever way they can.

"Holiday-makers and business travellers have curtailed and cancelled their travel plans all over Ireland, and hotels are facing very low occupancy and are closing.

"But the sector is perfectly positioned to use its resources to provide shelter and sustenance to those in need."
