Dublin's High Court has dismissed businessman Patrick Halpin's application for an injunction preventing a bank-appointed receiver selling his Ballsbridge-based boutique hotel. Halpin and Crossplan Investments Ltd claimed that the receiver, Paul McCann, had not been validly appointed by Irish Bank Resolution Corporation. The receiver has been attempting to sell the hotel, which is located next to the Four Seasons, after Mr Halpin's firm allegedly failed to repay loans borrowed to renovate the hotel. In her ruiling Friday 3 May, the judge said she was not prepared to grant an injunction and stated that she would outline her reasons in a written judgement at a later date.
