RTÉ has reported that new consolidated accounts filed by Bishopscourt Investments Ltd and subsidiaries show that the group behind the K Club saw operating profits increase by 59%, to €1.895 million, in 2023.

The group recorded a pre-tax loss of €86,048, after non-cash depreciation costs of €1.98 million are taken into account. The pre-tax loss of €86,048 follows pre-tax losses of €2.19 million in 2022, which is a decrease of 96%.

According to the report, the directors state that they are continuing to invest in various facilities across the resort and are satisfied with the performance of the business during 2023.

The K Club is one of Ireland’s top golf resorts and home to two championship Arnold Palmer-designed golf courses that have hosted the European Open and the Ryder Cup in the past. The resort offers a range of dining options, including the Barton Restaurant, the Palmer Restaurant, and South Bar & Restaurant.

The 550-acre Straffan estate, with its luxury five-star, 134-bed hotel, was bought by Dublin-based businessman Michael Fetherston in 2020.
