Glenroyal Hotel Sold For €10.5 Million

The Glenroyal Hotel & Leisure Club in Maynooth, Co. Kildare has been sold for close to €10.5 million, the guide price set by CBRE.

The popular hotel has been purchased by UK property investors The Comer Group. The property was offered for sale on the instructions of receivers Grant Thornton.

The Glenroyal Hotel opened in 1995 as part of shopping centre the Glenroyal Centre. It comprises 113 bedrooms, conference facilities, a leisure club and several bars and restaurants.

CBRE agent John Hughes, who handled the sale commented: "The Glenroyal Hotel & Leisure Club generated keen interest from national and international buyers and confirms the level of interest in well located hotels in Ireland and in particular hotels close to Dublin."

The hotel is part of CBRE's Crystal Collection, a Nama-owned portfolio of seven provincial hotels based around Leinster and Munster worth a combined €35 million. At €10.5 million, the Glenroyal had the highest asking price of the seven.
