Waterford’s Fitzwilton Hotel is currently celebrating being awarded the top prize at the annual Irish Accommodation Services Institute Awards for 2017 in Dublin.
Having achieved silver in this category in 2016, the Fitzwilton Hotel claimed the overall Supreme Award for 2017 which names the hotel as the best four-star property in Ireland in exceptional standards across a range of services such as cleanliness, guest services, servicing of rooms, bathrooms and public areas.
Driving this successful achievement was accommodation manager Lorraine O’ Brien, who stated, "we are over the moon to receive this very prestigious award. It is a wonderful achievement for the dedicated accommodation staff at the Fitzwilton Hotel and it is great to see their hard work and commitment recognised on a national level."
Speaking highly of the accommodation team, general manager Geoff Dawson said, "over the past two years we have invested in an extensive refurbishment programme at the hotel involving all rooms, bar and restaurant. However, it must be said this is only half the battle. Keeping these rooms and public areas to an exceptionally high four-star standard is where the hard work, training and dedication comes in and I could not be more proud of Lorraine and her team for this truly exceptional achievement which is very well deserved."
The IASI represents the professional interests of the accommodation sector promoting Best Practice Standards of excellence and a platform for accommodation managers to network and meet.
