The Fitzwilliam Hotel in Belfast city centre has been bought by a sister company of hospitality group Ampleforth for an estimated £17 million (€23M).
Ampleforth Group, which is controlled by Michael Holland, operates the Fitzwilliam Hotel in Dublin's St. Stephen's Green and the Bailey pub, also in Dublin.
Management company Hotel Partners has been running the Fitzwilliam on Great Victoria Street since mid-2009 and this week it was announced that it has been bought for an estimated £17 million, the Irish Times reports.
The five-star, 130-bedroom hotel has become one of Belfast's most popular hotels and last year reported a 16 per cent growth in profits.
