Dublin's Marker Hotel is set to be relaunched under the Anantara brand in the next few months following an agreement with the property's new owners, German real estate investment group Deka Immobilien.
Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spa was established in Thailand in 2001, and is operated in Europe by the NH Hotel Group with brand oversight by Bangkok-based hotel group Minor Hotels.
A "Significant" Occurrence
The Irish Times quotes Kevin Collins, real estate partner in the Dublin office of Pinsent Masons, which advised on the deal, as saying, "The entry of such a major international hotel brand into the Irish market is significant, and it shows a confidence in our business travel and leisure economies."
The Marker was recently acquired by Deka Immobilien from Midwest Holding and an investor group led by Capital Partners after Deka Immobilien agreed to pay approximately €130 million for the property. The exact new name that the hotel will be given has yet to be revealed.
