The Ashling Hotel, in Dublin 8, was crowned Ireland’s Best City Hotel at the recent Irish Hotel Awards, held in Sligo.
The luxury four-star hotel received eight nominations across a host of categories at the annual awards ceremony, which recognises and rewards excellence in hospitality and services across Ireland.
At the same awards, Maribel Tortajada Montesinos was named Housekeeper of the Year and Ciara Barry won the Marketing Manager of the Year – Leinster for the second year in a row.
‘Loyalty And Professionalism’
“I am humbled that the loyalty and professionalism continuously shown by our team are recognised by our peers,” said Ronan Walsh, managing director at the Ashling Hotel.
“To one and all, I applaud you and thank you.”
Refurbishment
The Ashling Hotel has also announced plans to begin significant refurbishment works in January 2024.
The refurbishment will see a redesign on the ground floor, along with significant investment in plants and machinery, as it continues its journey towards zero carbon emissions.
The luxury four-star hotel invested €250,000 last summer, to enhance the conference and meeting facilities, with 15 dedicated meeting/board rooms and larger conference rooms.
Sustainability Goals
The Ashling Hotel is operated with sustainability targets in mind.
The ultimate goal of the hotel’s policy is to minimise its impact on Dublin City by reducing the unnecessary use of energy, supporting the use of alternative energy, and reducing greenhouse gases, in an effort to contribute to a healthy environment.
Energy Conservation
The team is trained in energy conservation within the hotel and maintains processes and checklists in every department, to ensure that all appliances that are not in use are plugged out or switched off, where applicable.
The Ashling Hotel is currently removing all plastic water bottles and straws, and it plans to implement a more sustainable water offering throughout the premises.
