The new Maldron hotel being built on Belfast's Brunswick Street by the Dalata group may be increasing its proposed capacity by 31 bedrooms.
The Belfast Telegraph reports that while permission had been granted to develop a 206-bedroom hotel on the site, McAleer and Rushe is now seeking approval to expand the project to encompass a total of 237 bedrooms.
It has been recommended that the new revised proposal be given the green light at a Belfast City Council planning committee meeting that's due to take place tomorrow (Tuesday August 15).
The Maldron Brunswick Street is one of nine new hotels currently being developed by Dalata in the UK and Ireland. Due to open in early 2018, company chairman John Hennessy stated that its construction is currently "progressing on target and within budget".
