The Connemara Coast Hotel has announced the appointment of Derek Coyne as its general manager.

The hotel noted, ‘We are delighted to announce the appointment of Derek Coyne as general manager at the Connemara Coast Hotel, Galway. A native of Co. Galway, Derek has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. A graduate of GMIT, Derek held the role of director of restaurants at the five-star Montreux Palace Hotel in Switzerland before going on to senior F&B roles in Bermuda, opening deputy GM in Monart Spa, general manager of Waterford Castle and, most recently, general manager at the Ferrycarrig Hotel, Wexford, since 2014.
‘Derek is delighted to be back home in his native Galway and is very much looking forward to being instrumental in the continued success and development of the Connemara Coast Hotel. The focus will be on delivering exceptional customer service, coupled with creating a culture of respect, shared values, beliefs and attitude.

Irish Hospitality Institute Appoints Daragh O’Neill As President
The aforementioned follows last week’s news that the Irish Hospitality Institute (IHI) has announced the appointment of Daragh O’Neill FIHI as the 30th president of the organisation.
