The Connacht Hotel in Galway City has had an extremely successful year as it saw its pre-tax profits increase eight-fold from €168,267 to €1.458 million last year.
Newly-filed accounts for Connacht Hospitality Ltd also show its revenues grew by 17 per cent from €9.79 to €11.48 million for the year to the end of April last, reports the Irish Independent.
The three-star 350-bedroom hotel, which was built in 1969, has conference rooms which can host up to 120 people, a leisure club, cocktail bar and lounge as well as two restaurants.
Connacht Hospitality Ltd saw its number of employees increase from 147 to 150 with staff costs totalling €4 million last year, up from €3.75 million. The directors commented that they were happy with the results for the last year.
